Roman Brothel Coin - Number XII
About the brothel coins: The original brothel coins or ‘spintria’ are an ancient Roman token, possibly for use in brothels, depicting sexual acts or symbols. They were only produced for a few years in the first century, between the years 20 to 40 AD, during the reign of Emperor Tiberius.
The coins in this collection are made of the highest quality—Lead & Nickel Free—About the coins: Pewter and plated in Antique Silver Finish. They are accurately detailed and have been molded from museum-quality reproductions.
Each coin is unique featuring a different act and varying slightly in shape and size based on the cast from the original spintria. The back of the coins are numbered and the sterling silver setting has been cut to show the unique roman numeral on the back of the coin. The settings are hand-fabricated in .925 sterling silver and feature a serrated bezel and sterling cord.
